What Temp to run your AC at in summer??

As the temperature starts to rise, we are always quick to turn on our air conditioning systems for the instant relief, BUT what is the ideal temperature to set it to??

Here at Custom Air Conditioning we believe that the ideal set point in cooling mode is between 22-24 degrees.

We all think that on a hot summers day setting the air conditioning system to 19-20 degrees will cool us down faster but what you are doing is making the system work harder and using more energy. For every degree your turn down your air conditionings temperature you add around 10% to its energy usage.

Keeping your air conditioner at a moderate temperature will still give you relief whilst it will ensure that your air conditioner is maintained and keeps running at it's optimal performance.

Custom Air Conditioning also recommends that you keep your filters clean to help with the running efficiency, if you have zones turn off the zones not in use and it also helps to keep the window coverings closed during the heat of the day – this will help keep the hot air out and the cool air in.
